A Windsor truck driver is facing charges after the load he was towing spilled-out onto Riverside Drive East Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic snaked along Riverside Drive after the garbage truck from Recycling Makes Cents flipped over around 2:30 p.m.
It happened near the intersection of Strabane Avenue.
The westbound lane of Riverside Drive was blocked while crews worked to clear the scene.

Windsor police said a 61-year-old Windsor man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with an insecure load.

My Thoughts

This accident could have been a lot worse if that tipped over onto a person or a car. I have seen things fall out of trucks while driving with my parents in the wind or because the person was driving too fast and didn't strap it down. I am glad this truck driver is being charged because otherwise people won't learn.

Accidents happen all the time but this could have been avoided if the driver properly secured his container.
