Police investigate several church break-ins

A Windsor police cruiser is seen in this file photo.

Several break and enters at churches in central Windsor have prompted police to ask the public to report suspicious behaviour.
The Windsor Police Service is investigating after break-ins at about eight churches over the past two weeks, primarily overnight. At some churches, some cash was stolen, or small items. In several cases, nothing was taken.
“It looks like they were rummaging through, looking for money,” said Const. Andrew Drouillard.
He said the churches hit were mainly located between Howard and Pillette, and from Giles to Tecumseh. Drouillard said residents should be looking out for suspicious behaviour around churches all across the city, particularly after hours.
Police are also asking church members to remove money and valuables from the building when possible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at catchcrooks.com.

My Opinion
I find it pretty low that somebody would break into churches (Gods Home) to look for money or expensive items. If you were that desperate to get money wouldn't you go and apply you're self to get a job and make a living like everyone else in the world? The Windsor Police will eventually catch whoever it is since they have already broke into a few churches and will be spotted by a resident or church member. I am sure they will be charged with burglary, theft, and vandalism, . I really believe that it is not worth it to break into churches to find and make money, not only are there consequences but there are better ways to make a living. I was raised to be honest and not to steal. If you want or need something in life, work hard and make it happen. If you are struggling to survive or are in need, ask for help, don't result in criminal activities.
